    Starship Flight 14

The first Starship to reach orbit

    Open mission

Starship Flight 14 lifted off from Starbase in South Texas on 28 September 2026 with Booster 21 and Ship 41, and the ship reached orbit for the first time. It deployed 26 Starlink V3 satellites, all of which made contact, and then came back to a splashdown in the Pacific Ocean.

    Starship Flight 13

The second V3 flight, with 20 Starlink V3 satellites

    Open mission

Starship Flight 13 launched from Pad 2 at Starbase on 24 July 2026 with Booster 20 and Ship 40, after an earlier attempt aborted at engine start. The booster splashed down in the Gulf, and the ship's six engines shut down with a call-out of nominal orbit insertion.

    Starship Flight 10

    A run through the objectives

    Open mission

Starship's tenth flight test lifted off from Starbase, Texas, on 26 August 2025 at 6:30 in the evening Central time. SpaceX states that every major objective was met, which gave data for the next generation of Starship and Super Heavy.

    Starship Flight 8

Booster caught, ship lost on ascent

    Open mission

Starship's eighth flight test lifted off from Starbase, Texas, at the top of its window, about 5:30 in the evening Central time, with all 33 booster engines lit. The Super Heavy booster was caught at the tower, but the ship lost several engines near the end of its ascent burn, lost attitude control and contact with it was lost.

    Starship Flight 6

A catch called off, an engine relit in space

    Open mission

Starship's sixth flight test launched from Starbase on 19 November 2024 with all 33 booster engines. The booster catch was called off after automated health checks of the tower hardware and it splashed down softly in the Gulf of Mexico, and the ship relit a Raptor engine in space and made a soft splashdown in the Indian Ocean.

    Starship Flight 5

The booster is caught by the tower

    Open mission

On 13 October 2024 SpaceX flew Starship's fifth test flight from Starbase and caught the Super Heavy booster with the chopstick arms of the launch and catch tower on the first attempt. The ship completed a controlled re-entry and a splashdown in the Indian Ocean, and the flight ended 1 hour, 5 minutes and 40 seconds after launch.

    Starship Flight 1

The first integrated test of Starship and Super Heavy

    Open mission

On 20 April 2023 SpaceX flew a fully integrated Starship (Ship 24) on a Super Heavy booster (Booster 7) for the first time, from Starbase in Texas. The stack cleared the pad and reached an apogee of about 39 km, but several engines went out, the vehicle began to tumble and the flight termination system was commanded.

  11. Artemis III

A crewed rehearsal for the Moon, flown in Earth orbit

    Open mission

Artemis III is NASA's planned 14-day crewed flight in low Earth orbit, set for summer 2027, in which an Orion crew of four will dock with test versions of the Blue Origin and SpaceX lunar landers. It replaced the original plan to land on the Moon, and NASA now aims to put astronauts on the surface with Artemis IV in 2028.

    Starship Flight 12

The first Starship V3 launch from Pad 2

    Open mission

Starship Flight 12 was the first flight of the Starship version 3 vehicle, Booster 19 and Ship 39, from the new Pad 2 at Starbase, on 22 May 2026. The ship lost one vacuum engine on ascent but reached space and deployed its payloads, and the booster shut down early on its boostback burn.
